Anne
Morris and her family have lived in the UK since 1960.
Her parents and most of her family emigrated from
Ireland in 1959.
Like thousands of fellow Irish they left their homes
and moved to England, they were difficult times for
a lot of people.
As the
years went by Anne and her brother Seamus McAdden
became aware of the lack of assistance for the elderly
members of the Irish community. In 1994, they
decided to take action, through much planning and
hard work they established what is now The Hibernian
Society.
The Charity
has now been going since 1995, having three
regular annual events and most importantly achieving
their goal of helping the community on a weekly basis
through the lunch club. |
